Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA) Randall Preserve
The Randall Preserve in Orange County spans 387 acres of coastal land, showcasing diverse ecosystems including wetlands, woodlands, sage scrub, and vernal pools. Situated at the nexus of Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, and Huntington Beach, it holds profound cultural significance as the ancestral territory of the indigenous Tongva and Acjachemen peoples. AA, in collaboration with MRCA and the California Coastal Commission, will spearhead a comprehensive engagement initiative to shape a Public Access Plan (PAP). This plan aims to integrate tribal co-management, bolster biodiversity, and propose sustainable public access options, ensuring nearby communities have convenient access to high-quality parklands or green spaces within a 10-minute walk from their homes.
