Introducing Margaret
-
Can you tell us about your family?
I will be married to my husband, Mike, for seven years in May. I have two kids – a stepson, Mike Jr. (25) and a daughter, Minnie (5). Mike plays basketball for St. Louis and has a degree in Business Management from the University of Portland. Minnie is in K-4 at her school and does soccer, gymnastics, and hip-hop dance.

What's the most adventurous thing you've ever done?
The most adventurous thing I have done is drove cross country (Massachusetts to California) with only my 16-year-old (at the time) sister to start a new life in Los Angeles, alone with no place to live. I survived!
-
What is something you would like to share that most people don't know about you?
A fun fact about me is I was born in Washington DC, but grew up on a farm in Massachusetts for most of my life.
-
Do you have a proud accomplishment you would like to share?
I played semi-pro soccer for a year in Massachusetts for the WPSL (back before it folded). I was chosen for the Portugal Women’s National Team but was unable to accept because I had to get Portugal citizenship. In order to become a Portuguese citizen, my dad had to become a citizen, and his job would not allow him to hold dual citizenship.
-
Do you have a favorite birthday memory?
My birthday is on Christmas Day, so it pretty much always gets overlooked or outshined, but I like that there is always a family gathering on my birthday (whether it’s for me or not… haha!).
-
Can you share a favorite restaurant you recommend to your AA peers?
My daughter Minnie is a huge cheeseburger fan so we have tried a bunch of burger places. One of our favorite restaurants is Let’s Smash in Woodland Hills. I recommend getting the smash burger with Cajun fries, that’s what I order.

Five songs all AA staff should have on their playlist:
1. “Novacane” - Frank Ocean
2. “Can’t Feel My Face” - The Weeknd
3. “Work” - Rihanna, Drake
4. “Be Without You“ - Mary J. Blige
5. “I’d Die Without You” - P.M. Dawn
-
What's a place you are set on traveling to?
I would love to travel to Azores Islands in Portugal to see where my family is from.
-
What's your favorite book, movie or TV series, and why did it leave an impact on you?
My favorite book at this time is The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I feel like it really puts life into perspective, and it makes you realize that every little decision has a ripple effect on how your life plays out.
-
If you were a superhero, what would your superpower be and why?
If I was a superhero, my superpower would be teleportation. My family is all over the country and I would love to be able to visit them within a blink of an eye.

It’s AA’s 30th Anniversary! Can you share a special AA memory you have?
I came to AA from Metrolink because of William and Kate. They told me that AA was a great place to work at and convinced me to apply. It was my first job after having Minnie, so I feel like she has grown up before many of your eyes.
-
What is your favorite thing about working at AA?
My favorite thing about AA is the people! I am fortunate to have a great team that I truly care about and want to see succeed!
