Introducing Nora

  • Tell us about being a mom.

I am a mom of two teenagers, Carolina and David. I absolutely enjoy being a mom; my kids teach me new things every day.  It's amazing how much I've grown and learned through our interaction. Watching them develop their unique personalities and skills is one of the most rewarding parts of my life.

  • Do you have a hobby?

My kids and I enjoy hiking. Whether we are exploring trails near our home, throughout California, or in national parks, we are always up for the next trek! It’s our way to connect with nature and with each other, away from the screens and the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

  • What are your favorite podcasts?

I enjoy listening to podcasts while I am exercising and running errands. My favorite one, TBOY (The Best One Yet), is a daily podcast that highlights the top 3 “pop business” news stories of the day. I also enjoy listening to On Purpose, Huberman Lab, and The Diary of a CEO, among others.

  • Can you tell us about your family?

I come from a big family. I am one of 16 children! I have eight sisters and seven brothers. I also have 21 nieces and nephews. Being a part of a large family is an incredible experience. There is always something fun happening and we never have trouble forming multiple teams for a sport!

  • Who do you admire most?

I admire my late younger sister, Ederlen, the most.  She was resilient, compassionate, and fearless— both in life and in her battle with breast cancer.  She inspires me to give my all every day and to approach everything with enthusiasm and heart.

  • Who is your hero?

My mom is my hero. She did an amazing job of raising me and my siblings on her own with immense strength and unconditional love. Her unwavering support and endless sacrifices have shaped me into who I am today. I am truly blessed to have an incredibly kind, loving, and caring mom in my life. Her resilience and dedication inspire me every day.

  • Can you share a special AA memory you have?

One of my favorite memories at AA is working on the Metro Copa América Travel Survey project, where I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with 35 team members from AA, Metro, and Jacobs to administer more than 1,800 surveys during two matches. The amazing teamwork and the chance to connect with enthusiastic fans made the experience unforgettable, all while generating data that’s now shaping transit plans for upcoming major sporting events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the 2027 Super Bowl, and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

  • What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

For the past 10 years, I have had the privilege of co-leading my daughter’s Girl Scout troops. I am passionate about fostering growth, confidence, and leadership in young girls. I deeply appreciate the Girl Scout organization for providing opportunities for my daughter and millions of girls worldwide to grow, build confidence, and make a positive impact in their communities.

  • Where is your favorite place to travel?

My kids and I share a deep love for México, where my parents and their father are from. We enjoy immersing ourselves in our culture, visiting family, connecting with locals, and of course, savoring the amazing food. This past summer we explored Mexico City and had an unforgettable visit to Teotihuacán to see the ancient Mayan pyramids—it was a trip to remember!

  • Which causes does your family support?

My family supports awareness and research for breast cancer and retinitis pigmentosa, a blinding eye disease. We participate in various awareness and fundraising events and have raised more than $150,000 to support these important causes. We are dedicated to making a difference and spreading awareness about these conditions, hoping to contribute to finding cures and improving the lives of those affected.

  • What was your first professional job?

Upon graduating from college, my first professional job was as a bilingual second grade teacher in South Los Angeles. I faced challenges that I had never anticipated, but the experience was profoundly rewarding. Watching my students grow, learn, and overcome their own challenges was a joy beyond words.

  • What is one of the most adventurous things you’ve done?

One of the most adventurous things I have done is kayak in the ocean on a windy day. Despite the winds, my kids were up for the challenge. Our kayak flipped once and nearly tipped over another time. Getting into the water and back to shore was challenging, but reaching one of the caves in La Jolla was an awesome experience.
